First RunSummit run – a great success!

Today, we had a group of six on our first RunSummit run!  We had a collection of amazing athletes who have run Ultras (50 miles), marathons, and triathlons.  Several were yoga and fitness instructors.  All were positive and happy to be out enjoying the beautiful day.  We met at the Lululemon Showroom downtown and ran through the beautiful north side of Summit.  Half the group ran 4 miles, and half extended the run to 6.  We met in the showroom after and did a little shopping.  I got some great shorts that I am psyched about trying out tomorrow.  Thanks Abigail!!

I have always preferred running with people rather than by myself.  I know there are people who prefer to run alone, but I am not one of them.  When I run with people, the miles just fly by.  I enjoy learning about other people’s lives and developing the strong bonds that form between running partners.  I often find that these relationships develop into a special kind of kinship.  Your runninng partner becomes someone who will help motivate and encourage you when your tank is running low.  You come to depend on him/her to force you to get up and meet early in the morning.  Running partners are there every step of the way, helping you to meet your goals.

I look forward to running with the group again next week!!
