The NYC Marathon is in 105 days. That means that I have completed the first 3 weeks of training. This week I ran 30 miles, despite record breaking temperatures and humidity. In this kind of heat, it is difficult to run at all. I have to run early in the morning before the sun is too high in the sky. This morning when I went out at 5:30am to run 10 miles, it was already 81 degrees and what felt like 100% humidity.
I was supposed to do my long run yesterday, but it was just too darn hot! I ran 4 with our running group – we had 11 runners at our 8:30 Saturday run this weekend! And, we’ve had several folks join us on the weekday runs too. We have all types of runners coming to our runs – a 2:30 marathoner (that’s under 6 minute miles for 26.2 miles), a 63 year old, a new mom, kids on the high school track team, college track runners, and casual runners looking to start up a running program. It’s great that we’ve been able to get so many people together so quickly!!
So, if you are thinking about joining a running club or want to see what it is like to run in a group, please come join us and RunSummit!
